NEUMAI-S

The First Software Layer

NEUMAI-S is the first software expression of the NEUMAI architecture: a governed cognitive-control layer designed to sit around existing AI models and improve reliability, memory discipline, temporal awareness and compute efficiency.

Rather than replacing foundation models, NEUMAI-S is being developed to supervise how model outputs are evaluated, revised, deferred or accepted. It introduces structured checks for uncertainty, contradiction risk, memory influence, drift, temporal consistency and safe commitment before outputs or state updates are trusted.

The system is currently in early prototype development, with modular components for governed reasoning, memory admissibility, drift reduction, temporal evaluation, candidate-path comparison and audit-style trace logging.

NEUMAI-S forms the bridge between today’s AI systems and NEUMAI’s broader vision for safer, more coherent and more efficient persistent machine intelligence.
